FLOODING LIKELY DUE TO HEAVY RAIN AND SNOW MELT
Fond du Lac County Emergency Management is reminding residents to be aware of the potential for flooding in the next couple days as the snow melts and rain continues. There is a flood watch in effect until 7 a.m., March 15th, 2019. Residents should use caution when traveling in low-lying areas and other areas prone to flooding – remember turn around, don’t drown! It only takes a few inches of water to sweep a person off their feet and as little as one foot of water to move a vehicle. Flooding may occur in areas not normally prone to flooding due to storm catch basins being blocked with ice and snow. Residents are encouraged to clear catch basins and ensure other normal water flow areas are not obstructed.
